I have been writing professionally since leaving university, working at Reuters as a foreign correspondent and now as a freelance art writer.
My interest in art spans Caravaggio to Camille Henrot, sculpture to performance, painting to video, sound to the undefinable. Issues of sex, gender, race, the colonial legacy and the climate emergency are a particular focus. I write across a wide range of topics for a variety of publications ranging from the more scholarly such as Art in America to the specialist such as Sculpture to the mainstream such as The Guardian.
